About This Project

Before the new chiller could go in, the ground needed landscaping and a concrete base poured - groundwork that had to be completed before any plant could arrive on site. The added complexity was the existing roof chiller, which could not be offline for more than five minutes at a time as it served a live process cooling circuit; any longer and the entire production line would stop. Working around that constraint, we isolated one of the two existing water pumps, cut into the pipework, and ran a new set of pipes down to the new ground-floor chiller. Manufacturer modifications were also required to accommodate the open loop water circuit. The new chiller was brought online without any production downtime whatsoever.
